This is an unpaid, volunteer position on a political campaign in Brooklyn, New York. Our candidate is running as Democrat for New York City Council in District 47 to represent Coney Island, Seagate, Bensonhurst and Gravesend. Our candidate is running a mission-based campaign and is looking for a volunteer to assist with the planning and implementation of campaign events. This is an excellent opportunity for a college student or recent graduate to gain event planning, project management, and political experience.
The ideal candidate is an individual with a desire to gain work experience in the field of event planning, project management, and/or politics. Brooklyn residency is a major plus. There are no set hours to work; the Event Manager will be able to maintain full-time employment while volunteering on their own schedule. The Event Manager will be able to work remotely but is expected to attend campaign meetings and facilitate campaign events which typically occur on weekends about 2-3 times per month. The Event Manager will work primarily with the Candidate to fulfill volunteer duties and will report to the Candidate and the Campaign Treasurer.
The time commitment for this position is about 3-4 hours per week until December 2021.
