Position Summary

The Coordinator of Course Development is responsible for helping to facilitate the creation of both online and in-person content. The Coordinator of Course Development holds Mindful Schools’ guiding principles for course creation, MS’s content guidelines, and the process for moving a course from concept to distribution.

To function in this role, the Coordinator must be an experienced practitioner and teacher of mindfulness to both adults and children, be an experienced educator, have experience with online learning, and be a community-oriented leader that enjoys facilitating learning through encouragement and support.

This is a part-time position of 24 hours per week. This role works on site in our Emeryville office and reports to the Director of Training.

We are committed to creating a team of collaborators with diverse experiences and expertise with the ability to speak to different topics, different settings, different age levels, and who have experience with deep practice.


Essential Functions


Project Management

  • Create courses and/or coordinate the creation of courses for Mindful Schools, aligned with prioritized content areas
  • Liaise with internal and external course creators about content, timelines, and production
  • Oversee timelines, deadlines and priorities for course creation
  • Conduct one-on-one and group meetings to advance project goals
  • Collaborate across departments to facilitate course creation that involves all stakeholders
  • Communicate project timelines and priorities with the Head of Program and the Director of Training

  • Course Creation

  • Contribute to the formation and execution of course creation guidelines and throughlines
  • Provide formative feedback on drafts of courses
  • Coordinate production of courses, including contracting and overseeing production and film crews

  • Content Design/Production

  • Coordinate with other departments at Mindful Schools to generate teaching videos, readings, webinars, or other content as requested by the Training Team
  • Provide feedback and guidance on overall course structure and syllabus to the Training Team
  • Coordinate with external contractors through all phases of video and audio production of course elements

  • Public Content/Public Relations (if requested)

  • Oversee the creation of additional public-facing content for Mindful Schools website and or social media feed (1-2 articles over the year), in collaboration with MS Training Team

  • Collaboration

  • Biweekly meetings with the Training Team and/or Growth Team
  • Monthly Training Team faculty meetings
  • Additional small group meetings as necessary for program functioning & logistics
  • Regular email correspondence about program functioning & logistics

  • Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Experience developing courses and managing the development of courses with teams in professional settings
  • Project management expertise
  • Experience facilitating adult and/or youth learning in the field of mindfulness in education
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to share and receive constructive feedback
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages a plus)
  • Commitment to regular mindfulness practice
  • Experience using technology tools for course development and/or project management
  • Facility with using electronic media, including conducting meetings on an online platform (Zoom)

  • Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems such as Moodle
  • Experience with CRMs such as Salesforce

  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
