Job description

JOB POSITION TITLE: Quantitative Data Analyst


SALARY: Depending on experience and professional background. Salary will be a factor in the final decision-making process for Measurement Matters management.

TYPE OF CONTRACT: Service provision contract (prestación de servicios) with the possibility of a full-time indefinite contract after 3 months since the start date, depending on the results and efficiency. 

WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m - 6:00 p.m. or per deliverable. Possibly the Analyst may have to travel or work weekends for events, meetings or other objectives related activities. 

LOCATION: Bogotá, Colombia.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a statistician and/or economist, with at least 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis of social, environmental and economic issues. Preferably, the applicant will have experience in agricultural and rural or sustainability development projects; with a mixture of both technical analytical skills and deeply human, empathetic, teamwork and ethical skills.

The applicant must have experience in the construction of statistical methodologies, experiment design, advanced management of R Studio STATA, SPSS or Python (experience in programming language). The applicant should also have the ability to collect qualitative information, quantitative information, and display experience in the prioritization of data sources; experience in data management and organization and operationality. 



PROFILE:

» University degree in economics, statistics, math or other related careers. Master’s degree is an asset.

» Minimum of 2 years experience in quantitative data analysis, interpretation and presentation of results.

» Full proficiency in English and Spanish (Written and Spoken). English certificate (TOEFL, IELTS, other) is an asset. Other languages are an asset, especially: Portuguese, French. 

» Impact assessment and statistical package management capabilities.

» Advanced management of R Studio or Python (experience in programming language).

» Interest in social value analysis within the private, public and social sector at both a local and national level. Knowledge of social impact evaluation methodologies (i.e. SROI, SIRR, etc.) is an asset.

» Profiles with experience in SPSS and SAS, experience in project management, SCRUM methodologies, simulation and management of work teams are prioritized.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Spanish and English.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with international colleagues from a wide range of professional and academic backgrounds. 
  • Project development skills and cross-project collaboration.
  • Team management is required. 
  • Multitasking, result-driven and independent work style. Although Measurement Matters is a very collaborative team, it is critical that the analyst completes their objectives independently in a timely and responsible fashion. 
  • Excellent organization skills and capacity to work under pressure.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Salesforce, Google Drive. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once.

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create original data, identify and analyze primary and secondary data, interpret for individual and across assigned projects. This also includes proposing new data management systems, processes and protocols to improve processes in MM.
  • Database management. 
  • Generate reports and studies based on the analyzed data.
  • Cross information from different sources to structure useful information to achieve objectives. 
  • Create indicators, algorithms for social and environmental impacts and apply to project portfolios.
  • Propose new methodologies, processes, protocols and participate in transversal thematic teams in MM.
  • Preparation of presentations both internally and externally. Potential communication with and presentations for clients.
