    We have an opening for a full-time Coordinator of Youth, Families, and Schools to provide administrative, production, and event support and coordination for MCA Learning programs. These include school tours and workshops, Family Days, teacher professional development programs, and programs for/by youth, including the Teen Creative Agency. The Coordinator will ensure the smooth organization and operation of all programs and events and serve as key contact person for school tours and workshops, overseeing the tour registration, scheduling, and greeting process. To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Schedule and coordinate all school programs for 1st to 12th grade students.
  • Oversee the production and schedules for all programs, including coordinating logistics, managing internal briefings, and all production requirements.
  • Manage the studios, including but not limited to: taking inventory and ordering supplies, preparing studios for classes and workshops, and maintaining the cleanliness, efficiency, and safety of the studios.
  • Work in cooperation with the Coordinator of Learning on the administration of programs, including but not limited to: creating attendance reports, issuing contracts, recording and tracking expenses, initiating check requests, monitoring budgets, ordering and maintaining supplies.
  • Manage communication with Artist Guides, particularly in the area of scheduling meetings, tours, and workshops; track Artist Guide scope of work, availability, work history with the MCA, etc.
  • Work with Learning team to interview and supervise interns.
  • Assist in the training and scheduling/staffing of program volunteers. 
  • Required qualifications include a BA or BFA in Arts Administration, Art History, Education, Museum Studies or related field or equivalent experience, one to two years of museum experience or other office experience, and:

  • Demonstrated experience producing programs and special events.
  • Excellent administrative and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other Office software.
  • This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with evening and weekend availability as required to fulfill responsibilities and for related museum activities, including several Saturdays each year. Ability to operate computers, printers, and telephones and general mobility throughout the building required.
