Essential job duties and responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:Develop and implement marketing and communications plan that promotes the organization’s initiatives, programs, services and fundraising campaigns Write compelling action-oriented content for press releases, e-newsletters, annual reports, development appeals, event materials, websites and other social media that showcases the organization’s mission Utilize storytelling to build and deepen connections between Compass Center and key stakeholders Lead media relations by updating talking points and other key press materials and pitching/placing stories in traditional and non-traditional media Work with Director of Development to develop a donor acquisition strategy that cultivates, solicits and stewards donors Manage interns and development/communications volunteers Produce, distribute and track routine informational pieces, e.g., e-newsletters & e-blasts Manage social media messaging and calendaring Produce and coordinate collateral materials, e.g., agency brochures and fliers, major events Other duties as assigned by the Development Director. Occasional weekend or evening hours may be required.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrate Compass Center core values and work to help achieve the Compass Center mission Develop positive relationships with volunteers, board members, community members and staff Any other duties deemed necessary by the Development Director
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or a related field with a minimum of five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5 years of professional writing and editing experience Working knowledge of all paid, earned and owned MarComm functions — creative, advertising, direct marketing, public relations and promotions. Ideally have demonstrable experience with revenue generating, multi-channel fundraising campaigns. Excellent written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills Effective project manager who can produce results within project timeframes Strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision and strategy into actions and results Proven attention to detail, editing and project management skills Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects at a time and deliver within deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working in a collaborative environment on creative design projects. Must be goal-oriented, self-motivated, creative, highly flexible and able to accept feedback Website management and content maintenance experience strongly preferred. Proficiencies: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Adobe Creative Suites 6 (InDesign, Photoshop), CANVA, WordPress and WIX, Constant Contact, and social media (Twitter, Facebook, Hootsuite) Digital marketing, capital campaign and Database management experience (Network for Good, eTapestry/Blackbaud) are all a plus .
