Job description

Volunteering abroad in Belize provides participants with a unique experience learning about Reef Conservation in the Caribbean. Volunteers work five days a week and each day will be filled with a new unique task. A PADI Open Water dive course is included in the program fee and will teach volunteers the essentials about diving. Typically volunteers will partake in 2 - 4 dives daily, this is the perfect chance for new divers to learn while in the safe warm waters of the Caribbean.

Volunteers stay on a one acre island during the week and spend the nights in the main house or seaside cabanas. During free time, volunteers enjoy kayaking, fishing, and snorkeling on the island.

Each day will differ but volunteer tasks can include:

  • Lionfish population monitoring and control
  • Reef Check survey
  • Queen Conch surveys
  • Coral watch data collection
  • Lobster Surveys
  • Community education and awareness campaigns
Program Highlights
  • Join an award-winning project and become part of an active research team
  • Learn to dive or develop current skills whilst carrying out surveys and data collection
  • Research findings are used to enforce government preservation of the beautiful reefs
  • Live on an idyllic private island in the Caribbean
