Volunteers live in the heart of an African village and play a vital role in the charity’s life changing development work. Volunteers use their film and photography skills to capture the charities current building or educational developments so that donors can understand the latest achievements and support the charity’s community initiatives. Depending on the needs of the community when you join your volunteer role may involve:
The charity that volunteers work alongside in Ghana started their work in 2006 when they completed their first well which allowed a village of more than 300 people to access safe drinking water. Since then, they have helped many other villages to alleviate poverty with the help of volunteers on projects which include building wells, a clinic, schools, toilets, improving education and community health initiatives.
How will I make a difference?
The film and photography project engages with current and potential supporters to highlight the achievements of the charity’s work in Ghana.
Through the material volunteers produce, they help bring school sponsorship, fundraising, and more volunteers with skills and experience to the community. Furthermore, supporters can see the project developments, helping form an important link between them and the community.
This is a fantastic opportunity to live in the heart of a Ghanaian village and make a direct impact on the charity’s development work which aims to provide safe drinking water, improved education and increased sanitation to local communities.
