Support teachers in the local school and inspire further learning by running after school English sessions.
Volunteers inspire a passion to learn and since the projects began, many of the children have shown an increased enthusiasm to attend school. You will work with the local team to help develop the children’s English skills and confidence as well as promoting the importance of hand washing to schools. As a result, the children are achieving better results and have brighter futures ahead of them.
Experience local Ghanaian life while supporting development. Visit the stunning local sights including waterfalls, national parks and the vibrant and beautiful markets.
What will I be doing?
Volunteers live in the heart of an African village and play a vital role in the charity’s life changing development work.
During the school term you will teach at the local primary and middle school, as well as running after school and lunch time English lessons for the students aged 6-21 years old. These lessons help to develop the children’s English skills and confidence. You can teach vocabulary, music, art and sometimes other academic subjects such as maths, science or geography. When the schools are on holiday, volunteers organise popular school holiday classes and activities for the local children.
Volunteers provide essential assistance that enables the charity to achieve both long and short term development goals. Volunteers inspire a passion to learn and since the projects began many of the children have shown an increased pride and enthusiasm to attend school. The children are achieving better results at school and have brighter futures ahead of them.
